Toy Poodle
The Toy Poodle is a size variant of the Poodle recognized internationally by various kennel clubs as a Poodle under 28 cm in height.
The Poodle is regarded by many as the National Dog of France, though the breed originates from central Europe, possibly Germany. The Poodle is highly regarded as an excellent water retriever, whose ancestors are depicted in Ancient Egyptian wall murals, helping to chase and retrieve game from the wetlands.
The Toy Poodle was bred to be a companion dog for the nobility of the Rennaissance era, to serve as "handwarmers" within the sleeves of fanciful noble dress. They are one of the most intelligent breeds of dog and are often chosen to perform in circuses and other performing arts. They are also enjoyed for their hypoallergic fur and for the variety of colours the breed can be found in.
